Madera Canyon Nature Trail/Roger’s Rock

Wednesday was cold and windy as 2 groups of hikers headed to Madera Canyon. Brr..it was even colder at the higher elevation and under the shade of the trees.

Crossing stream LR.jpgBoth of these hikes have nice views of the valley below towards Tucson. It is nice to hike among green trees for a change from the wide open dry desert.

Looking down into Madera Canyon LR

Roger’s Rock is a huge boulder tucked away at the top of a trail. You can climb up on top and get a fantastic view of the valley and surrounding landscape.

The top of the rock is a popular trail destination and offers a great view while just resting and enjoying the scenery.
